
Kota Kinabalu: A 57-year-old man was charged with committing physical sexual harassment against a five-year-old girl.
Mohd Binjamin Abdullah pleaded not guilty before Sessions Court Judge Azreena Aziz to the charge.
He is accused of committing the offence on the minor by touching her private parts between 9pm and 11pm on Oct 2, 2020 at a house in Kuala Penyu.
The offence under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 provides for a jail term of up to 20 years, and whipping, on conviction.

Previously in Kuala Penyu Magistrate’s Court, Mohd Binjamin was offered bail but he failed to post it and was further detained under remand pending the disposal of his case.
Deputy Public Prosecutor Dk Afiqah Alya Ak Johari @ Pg Johari appeared for the prosecution while Mohd Binjamin was not represented.
