Now the 29-year-old is eager to sign for La Liga giants Barcelona in the off-season.
Per Sport in Spain, Bernardo is crazy about making the move, as he believes he would fit in very well at Barca.
He even held talks with coach Xavi about the move, only for finances to scupper it last summer.
Now there is a chance that he may move, as he has a 50 million release clause in his new contract.
