Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has paid tribute to his father, Alf-Inge.

Alfie Haaland also played for City during his career.

Erling told BBC Sport: "It's special for him to have played in the same club.

"He's a really important guy in my life.

"He's my father and he's also a really good friend, we joke a lot, we have a lot of fun. We enjoy joking around together, we enjoy ourselves in the same company and that's a really important thing. I've got a really good relationship with him and he's supporting me a lot."

On manager Pep Guardiola, the Norwegian also said: "It's different person to person or player to player because everyone is different.

"Everyone maybe needs a different approach, how to handle things or how to develop.

"For me it's about small details. Of course I have my own game and I should keep on doing why they bought me. I should keep on doing the things I've been doing before - what they saw when I played for another club.

"But about small details, what to do here or there. What to do differently maybe in these kind of situations. He [Guardiola] sees things other people don't see."
