Manchester City attacker Riyad Mahrez admits he wasn't aware of the FA Cup's history before arriving in England.
Mahrez scored a hat-trick as City defeated Sheffield United in yesterday's semifinal.
"As a French and Algerian guy, no," said Mahrez when asked if he knew about the FA Cup's history prior to moving to England.
Since I am here [England] nine years I know how important the FA Cup is. It has become important for me and for us and that's why I'm really happy to contribute and arrive there [the final]."
He added: We really wanted to make sure that today we win the game and have a good performance.
The last three years we came here in the semi-final and we lost and we really wanted to make sure we go through this time. And I think we did a good game and really solid game and serious game and we deserve to go to the final."
