Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits they had to play the Parken crowd out of the game last night.

City won the first-leg of the Champions League round 16 tie at Copenhagen 3-1.

Guardiola said, "We wanted to find the right pace - neither too slow nor too fast - to silence this fantastic stadium, where the fans stand behind the home team.

"I once had a coach who said that when we meet a team where the whole stadium is with them and the pressure is great, you must make 1000 passes.

"The focus should not be on scoring a goal - just pass to each other, and then you will see the stadium quiet down. That's what we tried to do today.

"I said we should play a lot with Phil (Foden) and Jack (Grealish). All the time Phil and Jack. And when the right moment came, we had to strike. It worked really well in the first half.

"In the second half, FCK switched to playing with five in the back chain, and then there was no more room."
