Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits he has concerns for his players ahead of tonight's Champions League clash at Young Boys.

Guardiola admits he is worried about how his players, particularly their bodies, will handle the plastic pitch.

"Grass is better," the City boss said. "Because 99.9 per cent of the teams who play in high level play on grass, otherwise UEFA and FIFA would decide to play on artificial pitches. It's common sense."

Guardiola had his squad train in Bern last night, which goes against their habit of holding a session at home before travelling.

"This is an exception," he said.

"Any team that plays here is not used to it. It suits the Swiss league and in the Champions League the teams that come here have to adapt. We will not be the first in this situation. If UEFA allows games to be played here it's because it's in good condition."
