Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola was against the idea of bringing Erling Haaland on in the Carabao Cup in yesterday.
City lost in the third round to Newcastle United on Wednesday, with Alexander Isak's goal settling the contest.
However, City could have called on their tall Norway striker to give them a boost, but Guardiola preferred to rest Haaland.
Asked if he considered sending on Haaland by reporters, he said: "No. I thought Kyle [Walker had played] a lot of minutes, Erling a lot of minutes.
We have a lot of games ahead of us.
"Maybe the last 10-15 minutes, but I decided not to do it."
