Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has rejected Jurgen Klopp's claims Liverpool's title hopes are already over.
City can pull 16 points clear of bitter rivals Liverpool and Kop boss Klopp wrote off his side's title hopes after last week's loss at Arsenal. Yet
City manager Guardiola says the biggest threat to a third City title in a row will still come from Merseyside.
He added: "Jurgen might not see it now - but I always see them as a contender. If it was only ten games left I would say I don't think they can catch us, I'd say maybe it's too late.
"But after just one quarter of the season? There are lots of games to play, many things can happen.
"Liverpool always have been, and will be, the biggest challengers because I know the quality they have. We know it will have to be a good performance."
