Manchester City youth coach Brian Barry-Murphy has praised his players after they lost to Hajduk Split.
The Sky Blues youngsters were beaten by Hajduk in the UEFA Youth League Round of 16.
Rojo Brajkovic and Mate Antunovic gave the hosts an early 2-0 lead.
Oscar Bobb did halve the deficit, but they were not able to find a second goal to take the game to penalties.
Post-game, per the club website, Barry-Murphy said: "It's really disappointing and not what we wanted. It will be no comfort to the players but we gave absolutely everything.
"We created a host of chances but we just didn't actually take them on the day. Split took their two chances and then we were left chasing the game. It's obviously not a nice feeling at this moment."
