Manchester City were worried that an outbreak of food poisoning could ruin their Champions League hopes.

The Citizens took on Real Madrid in the quarter final first leg in Madrid on Tuesday.

They managed a 3-3 draw at the Santiago Bernabeu without star man Kevin De Bruyne, who was unwell.

Per the Daily Star, the Belgian has blamed his sickness on something he ate at the hotel before the game.

City were worried that other players may pick up the bug, but they were not impacted.

The club were already without the likes of Nathan Ake and Kyle Walker for the game due to injuries.
