Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol enjoyed facing Croatia teammate Luka Modric in midweek.
Gvardiola was outstanding in the 3-3 draw at Champions League opponents Real Madrid.
Modric also featured in the quarterfinal first-leg and Gvardiol said: It means a lot to me.
"It was nice to see the captain of my team playing against me. I know Modric is getting older, but he still plays well."
The return leg against Real Madrid will take place on April 17 in Manchester.
