Manchester City under-21s are set to play against one of the club's old managers.

The Citizens have been informed about their matches in the EFL Trophy group stage.

City's under-21 side will play against ex-first team boss Mark Hughes, who manages Bradford City.

Their group will consist of Bradford, Barnsley, and Grimsby, as they look to move onto the knockout stages.

In the past two seasons, the club's under-21 side failed to get past the group stages.

But they did impress in the 2019 competition, reaching the quarter-final on that occasion.
