Manchester City aren't giving up on keeping club captain Ilkay Gundogan.
Off contract in June, indications have suggested the midfielder was ready to call time on his City career and seek a fresh challenge.
Talks between his agent and Barcelona have been held since the New Year.
However, TMW says City have now opened negotiations with Gundogan about a new deal - and the German has been receptive.
City are offering Gundogan a new two-year deal to 2025.
