Manchester City midfielder Rodri has played down the prospect of taking the captaincy in the future.
Rodri feels he needs to improve his leadership skills before being considered.
He said, "I don't know if I will have the role of captain. That's something I still have a lot to improve on. We don't have many leaders because Vincent Kompany, David Silva, Sergio Agüero and Fernandinho have left and had been at the club for many years.
"Now we have to assume that role ourselves. Rúben Dias has already done it. I feel like it can be my role too, more on the pitch than off it. But it is something that I have to improve.
"Footballers who play in the middle see everything that happens better and it's easier to organise from there."
