Manchester City have opened talks with Atalanta for Giorgio Scalvini.
TMW says City have approached La Dea about a January deal for the Italy defender.
Atalanta would be willing to sell for 45m.
Scalvini's agent Tulio Tinti said just yesterday: "Scalvini is in his third Serie A championship. a boy who, due to his age and quality, is attracted by all the top European clubs. There is still a month left until the transfer market, we don't know what will happen because it is affected by injuries and other factors.
"Scalvini is a player of great substance, he is in all respects a starter for Atalanta and is part of the national team. He has everyone's attention, we'll see what to do. He has already demonstrated that he is a potential champion."
