Croatian midfielder Mateo Kovacic is said to be ready to leave Chelsea this summer.
The 29-year-old has admirers from several clubs around Europe given his outstanding passing ability.
Per The Mail, Manchester City are one of those sides who would assess his situation with a view to a summer move.
Such a deal is even more likely if Ilkay Gundogan chooses to not renew his contract with City.
Kovacic also has interest from Bayern Munich, where former Chelsea coach Thomas Tuchel is in charge.
City do want to sign a central midfielder and may even go for Declan Rice of West Ham.
