Manchester City Elite Development Squad head coach Brian Barry-Murphy lavished praise on his team this week.
The Citizens youngsters claimed an emphatic 6-0 win over rivals Manchester United.
The City EDS were at their very best in the game, with Micah Hamilton opening the scoring and Will Dickson scoring twice.
Post-game, Barry-Murphy told the club website: " I'm delighted with the players' performance, their attitude and their application of the game.
"When the game was in its early stages, I thought we were exceptional.
"The second half can be difficult because I think when you play 11 v 10, you expect the opponents to stand-off.
"I thought the professionalism and the way we controlled the game in the second half was very very good and I suppose you see the end result where we can score goals later in the game."
