Manchester City will not push to close a deal for Josko Gvardiol in time for a Community Shield appearance.
RB Leipzig accepted City's 90m offer on Wednesday for the Croatia defender.
It was suggested City would seek to wrap up Gvardiol's signing in time for him to be available for the weekend's Community Shield against Arsenal.
However, Sky Sports says City are now scheduling his medical for the weekend, so ruling him out of the Wembley showdown.
Gvardiol won't put pen to paper until after his medical is completed.
