KOTA KINABALU: A 34-year-old man claimed trial in the Magistrate’s Court here to assaulting a 14-year-old boy with an aluminium metal rod.
Eddy Adong pleaded not guilty before Magistrate Marilyn Kelvin to causing hurt to the boy with the weapon at a rented room in Inanam Capital at about 4.30pm, on Aug 9.
He was charged under Section 324 of the Penal Code, which carries up to 10 years’ jail, or a fine, or whipping, or any two of the punishments, on conviction.
The court fixed Sept 11 for pre-trial case management and released Eddy on RM1,700 bail in two sureties.
He was also ordered not to interfere with the complainant or prosecution witnesses.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man claimed trial to criminal intimidation.
Rejooh Saman pleaded not guilty to threatening Recca Cynthia Saman at a rented room on the second floor of Rose Complex, Jalan Tuaran, Sunny Garden, at 6am, on Aug 11.
The charge stated that Rejooh had threatened her by saying, “I will kill you.”He was charged under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which carries up to seven years’ jail, or a fine, or both on conviction.
Rejooh was released on RM1,600 bail in two sureties pending pre-trial case management on Sept 11.
He was also ordered not to disturb the complainant or prosecution witnesses.
