Man dies after falling from 11th-floor Lembah Pantai residence while evading police

A 24-YEAR-OLD man died after falling from an 11th-floor residential building in Jalan Lembah Pantai while allegedly attempting to evade police officers responding to a report of aggressive behaviour at his home.

Brickfields Assistant Commissioner of Police Hoo Chang Hook said police received an emergency call from the man’s mother at 10.57pm yesterday requesting assistance.

He said officers arrived at the scene after being alerted that the man was behaving aggressively inside the residence.

However, by the time police arrived, the man had reportedly fled towards the edge of the building in an apparent attempt to climb down from the 11th floor to the 10th floor.

“The victim leaped to the 10th floor and fell to the ground level of the building before he was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer from the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre (UMMC),” Hoo said in a statement today.

He said the case had been classified as sudden death (SDR).

Police background checks subsequently found that the deceased had three previous records linked to drug-related offences. - August 27, 2026
