Tuaran: A man died after the car he was driving skidded and crashed into a guardrail in Kampung Lakang, Jalan Berunggis-Tamparuli, here, last Sunday.

The incident occurred at about 5.30pm, and the victim, identified as See Shun Beng, 28, died at the scene due to serious injuries. District Fire and Rescue Station Chief, Senior Assistant Fire Chief, Mohammad Nor Amit said they received a call regarding the incident at 5.35pm.

“There was a victim, the driver, who was unconscious in the driver’s side of the vehicle. The fire brigade then extricated the victim using special equipment,” he said in a statement.

Read more According to him, the victim was confirmed dead by the Ministry of Health Malaysia (KKM) personnel.

“The victim’s body was later handed over to the police for further action. Vehicle inspections were also conducted to avoid other hazards and the operation ended at 7.05pm,” he said.

In the 11.20pm incident, two victims, aged 26 and 32, escaped unharmed but their 43-year-old companion was slightly injured. Mohammad Nor Amit said the department received the call regarding the incident at 11.23pm.

“Two victims who were not injured got out of the vehicle on their own while the other victim was removed by the fire brigade. “Personnel provided initial treatment to the victims before they were sent to Tuaran hospital by ambulance,” he said.

“The operation ended at 12.02am after the fire brigade ensured that the surrounding area was safe,” he said.
