SHAH ALAM, June 17 - A 24-year-old man died yesterday after drowning in a water tank tower in Bandar Saujana Perdana, Sungai Buloh.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) operations centre chief Hamdan Hamzah said the force was alerted to the incident at 11.51am yesterday, and a team was dispatched.
“The fire squad arrived at the scene at 12.17pm and found a man unconscious on the water tank tower while having performed maintenance works.
“Preliminary information (from the caller leads us to believe that) the victim was sucked into the water tank (where he) drowned,” he said in a statement today.
Hamdan added that rescuers retrieved the body, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene by a Health Ministry officer.
The body was released to police.
