KOTA BELUD: A 29-year-old man who went missing while fishing in a river near Kampung Kadamaian, at the border of Kampung Pirasan and Kampung Piasau here, was found drowned this morning.
The victim, identified as Md Affendy Mujah, disappeared while diving at around 1.30am and was discovered by villagers more than seven hours later.
Fire and Rescue personnel, assisted by villagers, retrieved the body from the riverbank after it was located at approximately 8.30am.
The Fire and Rescue Department was alerted at 2.19am, deploying 10 personnel and a rescue vehicle to conduct a surface search operation within a 200-metre radius.
The search concluded at 8.50am after receiving confirmation of the victim’s discovery, following unsuccessful attempts by his companions and family members to locate him earlier.
