Kota Kinabalu: A man, believed to be in his 30s, died after falling from the top floor of a building in Lido on Tuesday evening.

Two handphones believed to belong to the man were recovered from the scene. One handphone is believed to have been thrown down by the man, while the other was found on the lower ground of the premises.

This is the second known incident involving fatal falls reported within a month. In mid-December a man in his 50s died after falling from a building in Tanjung Aru.

The latest incident happened at 7.21pm when a security guard at the premises heard a loud crash.

Upon investigating, he discovered the victim, clad in shorts and a black shirt, lying in a pool of blood on the ground after having landed on glass panels on the lower level of the building.

The security guard immediately alerted the authorities. Police arrived at the scene to conduct investigation.

Details about the victim’s identity have not been released as at press time. The case is under investigation.
