
Kota Kinabalu: A 25-year-old man was fined RM2,000 or four months in jail Thursday for trespassing on a house in a village at Penampang, recently.
Mohd Hamizan Jafery pleaded guilty before Magistrate Lovely Natasha Charles to sneaking into a house occupied by one Chung Tao Sam at Kg Tuavon at 2.30am on Jan 2.
The offence under Section 448 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to three years ora fine of up to RM5,000 or both on conviction.
Earlier the prosecution informed the court that the complainant who just returned home saw an unknown man leaving the kitchen.
A check found no goods missing from the house, the court heard.
Unrepresented, Hamizan requested a lower fine.
In another case, three men were penalised after they pleaded guilty to having syabu.
Jalud Jono, 33, was ordered to pay a fine of RM2,400 or eight months for having 0.002gm of syabu at 8.30pm on Sept 26, 2022 at Kg Sailan, Putatan.
Zack Malcolm, 33, was sentenced to nine months for having 0.08gm of syabu at 4pm on Sept 23, 2022 at Kg Dungkahang, Penampang.
Muhd Rahmat Musneh, 28, was jailed none months for having 0.04gm syabu at 6.50pm on July 28, last year at Asia City here.
They were each charged under Section 12 (2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which provides for a fine of up to RM100,000 or up to five years jail or both on conviction.
