TAWAU: A former plantation supervisor, 36, was fined RM10,000 or two years’ jail after being found guilty of insulting the modesty of a 23-year-old intern by asking her a series of sexual questions during a work-related trip.
The court ruled that Mohd Yusran Yusuf committed the offence under Section 509 of the Penal Code during a vehicle journey near Merotai Besar Estate on Sept 4, 2024, where he made remarks including asking about her virginity.
Magistrate Dayang Aidaku Amira Aminuddin found the prosecution had proven the case beyond reasonable doubt.
The trial ran from June 19 to Dec 1, 2025, with seven prosecution witnesses called.
