RECENTLY, a young man is reported to have fled when he was asked to pay RM 890 for haircut and styling services at a shopping mall in Bukit Bintang.
According to a Facebook post by user Eddy Teller, the incident happened on Nov 13 and a police report has already been filed at the Dang Wangi Police station.
The post also included CCTV footage along with screenshots of the proprietor with the man. Eddy added that the motorcycle the man was riding did not belong to him as well and pleaded to netizens to assist in locating the man.
Additionally, it has been clarified that the individual in question has been associated with unpaid debts for nearly a year.
The post read, “This guy ran away without paying, cheated my cousin, and got his hair done at the salon for RM890.”
“If you know this guy, please ask him to come back to the salon, pay the debt, and apologize on camera. It’s not fair to make other people pay for your hairstyle. Visit a nearby barber if you’re on a tight budget. Running away after getting your hair done is never a good idea.”
However, even in cases where the owner was at fault for leaving the premises after the services were completed, netizens had differing opinions.
In the comments section, a few users expressed shock at the haircut price and styling services.
“What sort of haircut sets you back RM 800? My B40 soul wonders about this. The next time, make sure to get a clear price quote before using the service,” Faiz advised.
Meanwhile, another user asserted, “Naturally, he fled; he had to have been taken aback by the extent of the bill.”
As per a different user he noted, “He probably assumed it would only be about RM200.”
