Man found dead in Taman Nelly apartment

Kota Kinabalu: A 38-year-old man was found unconscious in a toilet at a fifth-floor unit in Taman Nelly Phase 8A, Jalan Nountun, on Sunday night and was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department said it received an emergency call for assistance to open a door at 10.58pm, with 10 firefighters from the Lintas Fire and Rescue Station arriving at the location at 11.03pm.

The department said the door had been opened by members of the public before firefighters arrived, and the man was found unconscious inside the toilet.

Health Ministry personnel confirmed the man’s death at the scene, after which he was handed over to the police for further action.

The operation ended at 1.16am on Monday after firefighters removed the man from the fifth floor, with no other hazards found at the scene.
