Kota Kinabalu: An elderly man was found dead inside a locked house in Lorong Menggatal, near Menggatal town, on Thursday.
It’s the second case this week where the Fire and Rescue Department’s help was sought to unlock the door grille with a power saw.
The Sabah Fire Operations Control Centre received an emergency call at 7.09pm and after unlocking the door, the 71-year-old victim was found unconscious in the living room.
His death was confirmed by a medical officer at 7:54pm and the body was handed over to police for further action.
Earlier on Wednesday, a 57-year-old man was found dead in a unit at Flat Taman Sejati, Sandakan.
Firemen who gained entry after sawing open the grille found the victim in a bloated state sitting on a chair.
