PETALING JAYA: A 36-year-old man was stabbed to death at an apartment in Bandar Sri Damansara here last night.

Petaling Jaya police chief Shahrulnizam Jaafar said the victim’s neighbour alerted police at 1am today after hearing him get into a heated argument with an unknown person earlier at 11pm.

Policemen went to the apartment on Persiaran Menanti to check on the victim and found the freelance interior designer dead.

"We are trying to identify those responsible for the killing and the motive," Shahrulnizam said.

He had 20 stab wounds, including on his abdomen, wrists and head.

The body has been sent to Sungai Buloh Hospital for a post-mortem.

Shahrulnizam said they had not ruled out robbery as the victim’s wallet and handphones were missing.

"We also believe the assailant could have been hurt in the scuffle with the victim."
