
LAHAD DATU: A man in his 30s died after he was believed to have been electrocuted at Kampung Puyut, here, Wednesday.
Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Station Chief Sumsoa Rashid said the victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a medical officer from the Ministry of Health.
“The Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 12.47pm and arrived at the scene eight minutes later.
“Firefighters retrieved the victim using a stretcher and ropes after Sabah Electricity cut off the power supply to the area.
“The operation ended at 1.36pm, and the victim’s body was handed over to the police for further action,” he said.
Sumsoa said the victim was believed to have had no identification documents and was reportedly unknown to local villagers.
