A fast-track Special POCSO Court in Nuh has sentenced a man convicted of kidnapping, murdering and destroying evidence related to the death of a minor girl to life imprisonment. The court also imposed a total fine of Rs 17,000 on the convict.

The verdict was delivered by Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Special Court (POCSO), Dr Ashu Sanjeev Tinjan, who convicted Abbas, a resident of Doha village under the Ferozpur Jhirka police station area.

According to a spokesperson for Nuh Police, the case dates back to 2024. The victim, a seven-year-old girl, was playing outside her home when she was allegedly abducted. When she failed to return, her family launched a search but could not locate her.

A missing person complaint was registered at Ferozpur Jhirka police station the following day. During the investigation, police arrested Abbas and questioned him in connection with the case. Based on information obtained during his interrogation, the police recovered the girl’s body, which had been buried in a mustard field.

“The police conducted a thorough investigation, collected crucial evidence, and filed a strong chargesheet before the court. During the trial, the prosecution successfully proved the charges through witness testimonies and evidence gathered during the investigation. Considering the evidence and circumstantial facts, the court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment,” the police spokesperson said.
