A Malaysian man earns praise online after investigating persistent barking and rescuing a trapped dog from a narrow roadside drain.
A MAN has won praise from Malaysians after rescuing a dog trapped in a roadside drain, with many saying the barking of other dogs may have helped save its life.
The Threads post, shared by user _.mohdzulkfli, has garnered more than 22,600 likes and over 500 comments at the time of writing.
According to the caption, the man was resting at home when he noticed dogs beneath his apartment block barking persistently.

Curious, he went outside to investigate and discovered a dog trapped inside a narrow roadside drain. In the video, he carefully reached into the opening and managed to pull the frightened animal to safety.
“I was just lying at home wondering why the dogs under my apartment block were barking so much. Turns out this was why,” he wrote.
The user later confirmed in the comments that the dog had been rescued safely.
Many Malaysians praised the man’s kindness, with some describing him as a true hero.
