Man held after trespassing at Jalan Meru LRT Station

SHAH ALAM, July 21 - A man was arrested after trespassing onto the Shah Alam LRT3 tracks at Jalan Meru Station in Klang this morning, causing train services to be disrupted for about 30 minutes.

Rapid KL said that upon detecting the incident, its operations personnel, together with auxiliary police, acted swiftly to locate and apprehend the suspect before handing him over to the police.

The suspect was subsequently taken to the Bandar Baru Klang Police Station for further action.

"To ensure the safety of passengers and maintain the integrity of service operations, train services between Jalan Meru Station and Jambatan Kota Station were temporarily suspended for 30 minutes to facilitate enforcement action and ensure the tracks were safe before services resumed," it said in a statement.

Rapid KL added that it would extend its full cooperation to the police to assist in the investigation.

The operator apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers by the temporary disruption, reiterating that passenger safety and smooth operations remain its top priorities.

Rapid KL advised the public not to trespass onto railway tracks, as such actions not only violate the law but also pose serious safety risks.

Passengers are also urged to remain vigilant and immediately alert station personnel or auxiliary police if they notice any suspicious behaviour
