
Gurugram police arrested a man for allegedly strangling his wife to death with her scarf in Bans Aliyar village under the IMT Manesar police station area. After committing the murder, the accused fled the scene, but police arrested him in the wee hours today.
According to the police, Narendra Singh was living in Bans Aliyar village, IMT Manesar, with his wife Kajal Devi and their four children. Both husband and wife worked as labourers in a private company.
According to the police, 36-year-old Kajal Devi used to return home from work at 8 pm every day, while her husband would arrive around midnight. On Wednesday, he allegedly saw his wife talking to someone on the phone.
The angry husband asked her who she was talking to and demanded her phone, but she refused. An argument ensued between the two, following which he killed his wife. Their four children were sleeping on the roof of the house at the time of the incident.
Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s sister, an FIR was registered at the IMT Manesar police station and the accused was arrested near the KMP Expressway. The accused was identified as Narendra (37), a resident of Nangla Dawda village in Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura district.
“The accused works at Maruti Company in IMT Manesar. On Wednesday night, while his wife was talking on the phone, an argument broke out between them. Suspecting her, the accused allegedly strangled her to death with a scarf. The scarf used in the murder has been recovered and the accused is being questioned,” said a spokesperson for the Gurugram police.
