RANAU: The Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division (BSJN), Ranau District Police Headquarters (IPD) arrested a 43-year-old local man for suspected involvement in drug-related activities here.
Following examination, the police seized suspected syabu in the suspect’s possession.
The results of the urine test found that the suspect tested positive for Methamphetamine and Amphetamine drugs.
The case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a penalty of not less than two years’ imprisonment and whipping of not less than three times if convicted.
The case is also being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, which carries a fine of not more than RM5,000 or a maximum prison sentence of two years if convicted.
Towards that end, the police called on the public who have information about crimes or drugs to contact the nearest police station.
