
TAWAU: A 54-year-old local was issued a summons for transporting a large television in a taxi with both rear passenger doors wide open.
The incident sparked concern among netizens after a video of the man’s antics went viral on Tuesday.

He said police immediately launched efforts to trace the taxi owner based on the viral video. A system check using the Mobile Card Acceptance Device around 10.20am revealed the vehicle belonged to a 54-year-old man.

“The television was placed in the rear seat, preventing the doors from being fully closed,” he said, Wednesday.

“The vehicle owner has also been asked to undergo drug screening and a urine test,” he added.

He also urged the public to act responsibly when using social media, encouraging them to report hazardous incidents directly to the authorities for immediate action.
