PETALING JAYA: Police detained a 50-year-old man for allegedly assaulting his teenage daughter while under the influence of alcohol at their home in Taman Saga in Ampang Jaya.
Ampang Jaya district police chief ACP Mohamad Farouk Eshak said the suspect and the victim’s mother were arguing about financial matters at about 7.55pm yesterday.
“He told the victim’s mother to ask for money from other family members but she refused, after which he pulled the victim’s hair,” he said.
The 16-year-old victim’s refusal angered the suspect, who shouted at his daughter before slapping, pushing and stepping on victim’s head.
The victim was sent to Hospital Ampang for treatment.
