Kota Kinabalu: A 40-year-old man who committed mischief by burning his father’s car, was jailed two years and fined RM1,000 in default another two months.
Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus meted out the sentence to Md Fariddey Md Zailanih, after he pleaded guilty, Friday.
He committed the offence by burning the car belonging to his 60-year-old father on March 11 at 1.30pm at a house in Kg Pirasan, Kota Belud.
The offence under Section 435 of the Penal Code carries a jail term of up to 14 years, and liable to a fine, on conviction.
