- Raju Mollah, 50, has been sentenced to 26 years in prison for attempting to murder his wife in Birmingham.
- Mollah attacked his wife by pouring hot oil over her head and repeatedly striking her with a frying pan after asking her to make him an omelette.
- The victim suffered severe burns, a minor bleed to the brain, missing teeth, facial and head wounds, and singed hair.
- Mollah initially claimed his wife had fallen or that he was acting in self-defence, but a jury at Birmingham Crown Court convicted him of attempted murder.
- An indefinite restraining order was also imposed on Mollah following his conviction for the vicious and sustained assault.
