Police said the preliminary investigation revealed that the father took this step due to financial difficulties arising from gambling and alcohol addiction.

He visited Machhagar village on Sunday and brought his son back to Dayalpur with him.
On Sunday night, Sagar strangled his son to death and then committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan. A neighbour visited their home and discovered the incident.
Police reached the location and transported the bodies to the mortuary for post-mortem.
