Man missing after entering Tungku forest

LAHAD DATU: A 37-year-old man has been reported missing after venturing into the Tamaco forest in Tungku on May 8 to gather forest products with his friends.

The Fire and Rescue Department received an alert from the Tungku Police Station at 7.02am on Monday requesting assistance in locating the man, identified as Fendery Ani.

According to a report lodged by his cousin, Fendery entered the forest around 4pm with several friends and has not returned since, with calls to his mobile phone going unanswered.

A team of Fire and Rescue personnel has been deployed to the area to gather more details and initiate a search and rescue operation, while the whereabouts of the victim's companions remain unknown.
