
KUDAT: A Filipino was reported missing and feared drowned in the waters of Balambangan Island, near here.
Kudat Fire and Rescue Station Chief Ishak Jabas said the 23-year-old went missing while out fishing on Tuesday.
Six personnel, including Senior Fire Officer I Saidi Tabin, went to the scene after receiving a call at 8.05am from the district police headquarters.
Ishak said the fire brigade moved to IPD Kudat to get further information on the location of the victim and boarded Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency boats to conduct a search and rescue.
