RANAU: The body of a local man who went missing while crossing a river here two days ago was found by rescuers during search efforts on Wednesday afternoon.
The Ranau Fire and Rescue chief, Ridwan Mohd Taib, said the victim, Fred Yassin, 42 was last seen crossing the Liwagu river at about 1.30pm by his family members and couldn't be reached since then.
"A search-and-rescue operation was started following the report lodged by the victim's relatives on Wednesday morning and the victim's body was found 300 meters from where he was last seen," he said.
