  • Shafiq Rahman, 48, admitted racially aggravated assault, fear or provocation of violence by words, and criminal damage at Reading Magistrates’ Court.
  • The charges stem from an incident on 20 April in Slough, Berkshire, where Rahman verbally abused an Orthodox Jewish man.
  • Rahman, while on a bicycle, shouted antisemitic slurs, called the victim a 'dirty Jew', and accused him of 'killing babies in Palestine'.
  • A video presented in court showed Rahman also threatening to 'break his jaw' during the unprovoked attack.
  • District Judge Devinder Sanhu described the incident as a 'pure hate crime', and Rahman has been granted bail until his sentencing on 10 July.
