Man remanded over senior citizen’s murder

A 40-year-old unemployed man is remanded for seven days to assist in the murder investigation of a 78-year-old man found dead in his Kampung Koh home.

MANJUNG: A man has been remanded for seven days to assist police investigations into the alleged murder of a senior citizen in Kampung Koh.

Manjung District Police chief ACP Hasbullah Abd Rahman said the remand against the suspect, in his 40s, was issued by Magistrate Fakhrul Razzi Abd Hamid at the Seri Manjung Magistrate’s Court.

The unemployed suspect was arrested by police at Jalan Pinang Raja, Seri Manjung yesterday.

On Nov 30, a 78-year-old man was found in a pool of blood in the living room of his house by family members at noon.

Police believe the victim was murdered using a hoe.

Further investigations into the motive are being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
