LAHAD DATU: A 39-year-old man who was reported missing while looking for mud clamps in Kampung Tulibas Baru, here, on Thursday was found dead on Friday.
It was learnt that Selesion Appang left his house on Thursday for a river nearby to search for mud clamps but failed to return home till 10.30am, Friday, and could not be contacted.
The victim’s family launched a search operation for the victim but only found his hat near the river’s mouth while his tool was found inside the river.
District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Sumsoa Rashid said his department received an emergency call at 10.32am Friday and a team joined the search with other agencies.
“At 3.06pm, the victim was found by villagers at about 3km from where his hat was found. The victim was found with incomplete body parts, believed to have been devoured by a crocodile,” he said.
