
Tuaran: A man, who was reported missing while bathing at the seashore of Kg Karambunai Baru here on Thursday (March 30), was found drowned.
The body of Mohd Bustaman Hamma, 56, was found by villagers who assisted in the search and rescue (SAR) operation about 500 metres from where the he was reported missing, at 8.45pm.
Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Station Chief Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar said they received an emergency call at 3.01pm on Thursday.
He said 10 personnel, including a tracking dog unit (K9), rushed to the scene with a fire machine and one utility vehicle from the Emergency Services Unit (EMRS).
“After nearly five hours of SAR, the rescue team received information regarding the discovery of the victim. However, the victim was confirmed dead and was handed over to the police for further action,” he said.
