Man robbed of RM150K in cash after ATM withdrawal

CASH withdrawals at the ATM is almost always accompanied with others watching your every move and waiting when to strike and take one’s hard earned money therefore we must remind ourselves to be on guard and observe our surroundings.

A middle aged man surnamed Zhang was recently mugged and lost RM150,000 after visiting an ATM machine in Kuantan.

Facebook group 关丹台 Kuantan Complaint King shared that the 41-year-old made the hefty withdrawal at a bank situated in Jalan Beserah, Kuantan and was knocked unconscious after the transaction was complete at around 2.40pm.

“As the man walked out of the bank to his car, the thief had attacked him with a helmet and absconded with the RM150,000 in cash,” the group said in their post.

It is believed that Zhang’s wife was also present during the incident.

Many people who witnessed the incident shielded the victim straight away lying on the ground with umbrellas until he was rushed to the hospital 20 minutes later by an ambulance arriving at the scene.
