PETALING JAYA: The body of a man has been found at the site of the Batang Kali landslide this morning, according to the Selangor fire and rescue department.

The death toll in the tragedy is now 26.

The department is searching for seven more victims in the landslide.

In a Facebook post, the department said the man’s body was found at sector B (Fairview camp).

Last night, the search and rescue team found the body of a girl at 11.15pm. Bernama quoted Hulu Selangor police chief Suffian Abdullah as saying she was between six and 10 years old.

The girl, in pink pyjamas, was found with four bags containing clothes and a laptop. Her body was taken to Sungai Buloh Hospital for post-mortem.

The girl’s identity has yet to be determined.

Ninety-four people were affected by the landslide at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite in Gohtong Jaya, near Batang Kali. Sixty-one of them survived.
